Battlefield 6 - Saints Quarter

Saints’ Quarter is a small-scale Battlefield 6 map set in Gibraltar, built for fast-paced, infantry-only game modes. The objective was to deliver Battlefield’s first close-quarter focused experience on a short timeline, while reusing a large portion of the Iberian Offensive content set.
The key challenge was designing a dense network of winding alleys and vertical routes using an existing asset kit, without sacrificing readability. The space needed to support split-second decisions through clear navigation, strong landmarks, and reliable combat flow, while still feeling grounded in real-world reference.
Because this was our second Gibraltar map, we also pushed for a distinctly different tone and mood. We achieved that through deliberate choices in lighting, color, and spatial contrast.
My responsibilities included defining the layout together with Level Designer Edvin Eriksson, with a focus on readability, navigation, and combat flow, and planning and executing level building together with 3D Environment Artist Johan Nilsson.
The core design philosophy was always driven by the player experience, the goal was to deliver a level that feels believable and visually strong, while still being highly readable, fast to navigate, and fun to play.
Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this map and to the success of Battlefield 6.
